      <image:title>About - About Trish</image:title>
<image:caption>Trish Holland was born and raised in Mississippi. She grew up surrounded by loving family, friends, music, books, and a grandmother who told fantastic bedtime stories. Trish holds a bachelor’s degree in music therapy and a master’s degree in public health, and worked in psychiatric hospitals for many years. She's happily settled with her husband and two dogs in Denver, CO, Her two children are off on their own, so Trish has plenty of time to indulge in her passion of writing for very young people. She’s also an active member of the Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Trish does school and library visits dressed as Whimsy the Book Wizard, her alter ego. Whimsy emphasizes that the magic is in the books and Trish believes this whole-heartedly. “I will defend the importance of bedtime stories with my last gasp.” JK Rowling</image:caption>

<image:caption>by Trish Holland and Christine Ford and illustrator, David Diaz (Little Golden Books, Penguin Random House, 2009) As a mother and child canoe along the Alaskan Beaufort seacoast, they observe a baby walrus held close to its mother’s spotted chest, sea lions snuggling, and the Northern Lights shimmering above.
